Should I choose a five-day or seven-day Kerala trip?
Start with the arrival and departure times. A five-day trip can cover a focused Munnar, Thekkady and Alappuzha circuit, but it involves several transfers. Seven days gives you a choice: keep the same stops with more time between activities, or add a compatible beach stay. If fewer hotel changes matter most, use the extra nights to slow down instead of adding places.
How should I compare a houseboat night with a backwater resort?
Compare the actual stay details. For a houseboat, ask whether the whole vessel is private or you are booking a private room on a shared boat, then confirm air-conditioning hours, meals, cruise timing and boarding arrangements. For a resort, check the room location and facilities, and whether a separate backwater cruise is included. Choose the option that suits your group rather than relying on a general label such as premium.
Is a premium houseboat the same as an official classification?
Ask what the quoted label includes. Kerala Tourism’s published classification scheme uses Silver Vessel, Gold Vessel and Diamond Vessel categories. If a supplier describes a boat as officially classified, request its current classification details as well as the written room, meal and cruise arrangements.
